Increases Water Demand
Because PENSDA® HPMC can effectively counter the drying shrinkage and increase hydration levels by virtue of its water retention and thickening abilities, it is possible to increase the water content of the mortar without suffering strength loss. This leads to higher yield and thus more area coverage of the plaster, which in turn reduces cost.
Micro air bubbles entrained in the mortar or concrete through the use of PENSDA® HPMC drastically improves the "creaminess" of the mortar/concrete. The shear-thinning behavior of PENSDA® HPMC modified mortars also leads to effortless application and easy leveling, thus reducing labor time.
The shear-thinning and slippery behaviors of PENSDA® HPMC modified mortars also mean better pump-ability. Not only does the pump have to work half as hard due to reduced viscosity, also the lubrication that is provided by a PENSDA® HPMC lso reduces the pump and piping wear.
Better Final Strengths
The presence of water is crucial for strength and durability development. PENSDA® HPMC's ability to hold water reduces substrate absorption and evaporation, thus not only al lowing the cement hydration reaction to complete, but also delays the onset of shrinkage, so that when strength is greater than the shrinkage stress, cracking is also reduced.
Excel lent Sag Resistance
Modified PENSDA® HPMC can provide excel lent sag resistance, so that when plaster is applied to the wall or ceiling, it will not yield to the influence of gravity. This can give excellent flatness of the wall.
